Just what is a hypermiler?
Hypermilers are drivers of both regular vehicles, as well as hybrid cars, who go to extraordinary lengths to squeeze as much as they can from each gallon of gasoline or diesel. The actual practice of hypermiling probably dates back to World War II gas rationing; in fact, during the fuel crisis of the 1970’s, Reader’s Digest published a guide for consumers that included many techniques now commonly used in hypermiling. Today, however, hypermilers are not only more serious about their craft; they also rely heavily on new technology to achieve such astounding fuel economy.

We have been compiling HyperMiling ideas for some time. We have compiled these tips and techniques into an eBook called “A Primer on HyperMiling”. The book is 19 pages in length and contains valuable concepts and techniques that will help the average driver achieve better fuel mileage and save money. The eBook is available for purchase at GasSavingSolutions.com. We will be providing excerpts from the book in the future.
